From an article entitled, Decline and fall of the neocons, discussing the soap opera in which Shaha Ali Riza (who had to leave the World Bank after she began dating uber-Zionist Paul Wolfowitz) finds herself:
It was unfair, particularly on Riza, who after years of service to the bank felt downgraded to the status of "girlfriend". She has been forbidden by her employers from publishing an article in her defence but has let it be known in a memo to officials that she feels "victimised" for agreeing to move to a job that she did not want and "that I did not believe from the outset was in my best interest". The public scrutiny had also imposed "personal pain and stress" on her and her son, she complained.
Awww, poor sharrmoota. I don't know much about Riza beyond what has been written about her in the press, nor do I care, because one thing I do know is that she ended up in a relationship with someone who quite assuredly is a war criminal under international law, and that her suitor was responsible for the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Riza's fellow Arabs. She may as well have fallen in love with the undead corpse of Ariel Sharon (hey Shaha, there's still time...he may be on a breathing machine but technically he's still alive). Not to mention she presumably knew the rules at the World Bank do not allow relationships between bank officials. And if Wolfowitz really loved her then he would've resigned. The upshot is that her and her lover (holes in his socks and spit in his hair) can now be reunited.
Sorry to pick on such a marginal player in this whole stupid affair but I can't help it. There's just something about this that brings to mind slave owners in the Old South fornicating with their house negroes.
